I fell in love ♥
18/05/09
Name is never to be given out on internet. Rule set by loving parent. Oh who am I kidding? So yes, my name’s Jeneva. Most call me Jen and I most prefer it that way, thank you very much. Some call me Jenny. My dad calls me Neng. Until now, I never knew how that came about. I have a much much longer name but I'll leave it as it is for the sake of internet safety precautions... but on second thought, not that many people read this crappy blog... at least I don't think so.
Emotional is my middle name. Well, not really, but you know where I’m getting at. I cry at literally anything. Whether it’s happy/sad/sweet/ridiculous/pathetic, yep, I tear up. I seriously don’t know what’s wrong with me. I should get my tearducts checked, shouldn’t I? They’re uncontrollable it’s not even funny.
Sibling is fortunately one and only but that does not mean that she couldn’t be considered an endangered species and taken away, in case one of these days I go psycho, kill her, and then she becomes lost to the world. If I had 3 words to describe her: violent, rowdy, noisy. Mind you, she’s only 7. Keywords are ‘she’ and ‘7’.
Music is something I love. Of course, who doesn't? I'm not the kind who listens to anything, everything though I must admit. I cannot stand rock/hip-hop. Well, if it's John Mayer-esque rock, I'd love it. But if it's AC/DC-esque rock, I'd probably don't. Yeah, I'm picky. Being in my church choir, of course I love gospel music. Pop, Soul/Blues... yup. I think my dad plays a huge part in how I came about liking only those genre of music. The fact that I grew up in a Filipino community where we consider soprano-type voices fan-flippin-tastic doesn't help either.
TV is one thing I never have time for. If I'm lucky I may be able to watch a few shows a week. Other than that, I basically don't watch it. I know it exists. It just doesn't exist in the places I want it too. For me, it has always been the internet. Seriously, I cannot go a day without switching my computer on. I guess my so-called addiction on graphic design doesn’t help. Neither does knowing that there are awesome people waiting for me at Archuletafans.com, Team Archie and ZF. Besides, without the internet, how the heck could I act all Mission Impossible (in this case, possible) and find juicy stuff regarding Zac and Vanessa's relationship? Cyeah, I thought so.
Actors are people I have total respect for. I honestly can't imagine having a camera shoved in my face while I'm trying to do something that everyone else does. Besides, some of them are so good it’s just amazing to me that they can revert back to being normal people when they're roles are all over. I don’t know, being an actor is just not my forte. It’s funny how people say I could be an actress. After reading this paragraph, think again.
I find fan-girling insanely embarrassing but that hasn't stopped me yet. That's about it. True, my opinion about fan-girling isn't much of a clincher but hey, no one actually reads this part.

kill me now
URGH. There's soooo much homework nowadays... everyday the sub teachers give like 804265320745 of homework! and it's not EASY. okay, maybe sometimes it is but come one, who likes homework? That's right. NO ONE and what's more, we have that IPW Project thing going on about Mangrove Swamps and... ARGH I don't even want to talk about it. Good thing is that I'm not the group leader, rather the Recorder which I realized that it's a pretty bad thing coz you must write everything down and the leader just makes sure the group is on-task and give them tasks... oh geez. I'm like doing my maths homewor now and tomorrow is the presentation of my English Speech WHICH SUCKS BY THE WAY Look at it: Topic: My School Life in the Philippines
To be quite honest, I never did want to study anywhere else but in the Philippines. I never once thought that I was to study here in Singapore, or even live here. I went to a Montessori school and I absolutely loved it. Looking back, I was glad that I was sent to study there because not only did it have a great learning environment, I was also exposed to a great deal of advanced education. For example, learning Geometry in Primary One.
OBMCI, also known as Operation Brotherhood Montessori Center Incorporated, was the name of my school. It was founded my Dr. Maria Montessori, who’s autobiography I found in our school’s library! It is one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines, my parents paying over SGD$2,500 a year, if converted. My school can hold students from nursery to college. Yes, it’s that big.
Famous child and teen actresses also studied there too. Do you know who is Lea Salonga? She was the one who sang ‘Reflections’ in Mulan and is world-renowned for acting in Broadway shows. She studied in the same school when she was little!
Believe it or not, almost everything is standardized. From the school bags, to the school IDs, to the teachers’ uniform. Everyone was to learn to write in calligraphy and nothing else. We had no textbooks. Instead, we have to write down everything our teacher writes on the chalkboard. That acts as our textbook. We had no worksheets or workbooks to do either. We have to copy our school work and homework in another separate notebook and do it there. It’s the same for every subject.
Every student was to become a scout as well, even the girls. We do what scouts do, go for camps, earn badges and help the community. Starting at Primary One, we have to study English, Filipino, Mathematics, History, Geography, Botany, Zoology, Religion, P.E, Scouting and Music. Believe it or not, Physics and Chemistry are studied in Primary Four. During examinations, everything is written, even P.E and Music!
During Halloween celebrations, everyone is expected to come to school in their Halloween costumes, and we have no lessons throughout the whole day. Instead, we go around the whole school, trick or treating! Every year, I go to school dressed up as a fairy. It never changes! Every Friday is called ‘Be Yourself Day’. We didn’t have to wear uniforms, but our own home clothes every Friday. Our recess time was pretty short too, only fifteen minutes and we have to eat in class because we have no canteen at that time. Recently, I heard that they installed air-conditioners in every room! I was so shocked and amused!
Comparing the schools in Singapore and my school in the Philippines, I’d say that there are a lot of differences! Although I’m quite happy studying in Singapore, I would love to go back to my old school and continue my studies there. It would be nice for me to see my old teachers again.
Thank You.
I have yet to edit it though. The presentation started just now with the guys and Miss Raniy was like '...pick a boy to start' and I couldn't think of anyone! sa I said 'umm... Darryl?' it was more of like a question that a statement. lol. OMFG. DARRYL PLEASE DON'T KILL ME. WHY? COZ HE FAILED. AND I THINK IT'S MY FAULT. BUT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT HE WAS GONNA PRESENT LIKE THAT SO I THINK I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE GUILTY. RIGHT? RIGHT? UGH. PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! :P Labels: english, homework, ugh
